Business Researcher / Editorial Assistant

This exciting opportunity has become available with The North East’s most successful business publishing company!

Their customers include business support agencies, chambers of commerce, universities, business libraries and the major high street banks that access our services on an annual subscription basis. Cobweb also publishes Better Business magazine, a bi-monthly journal for small business owners and advisers, and a series of workbooks used on business start-up courses.

Our client is expanding their research and editorial team and are seeking to recruit a talented individual with at least two years experience in the following areas:

*researching and writing information about a range of business sectors and start-up ideas
*gathering and verifying information about sources of advice and support for business
*researching information for specific fact sheets and article features
*writing short news pieces for our own bulletins and our clients’ newsletters
*assisting with editorial, maintenance and development of our main information products
*general proofreading, tagging and editorial support

Skills required:

The successful applicant will ideally have an understanding, interest or experience of small business issues and be interested in pursuing a career in business research, editorial and publishing.

Particular skills and personal attributes needed include:

*strong research skills
*excellent use of English and report writing ability
*highly IT literate
*comfortable working to deadlines
*self disciplined and self critical
*impeccable attention to detail
