The personality of each licensee is what makes each pub and Admiral Taverns recognise this and strive to provide tailored support as one size does not fit all, setting the company apart from competition.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Director and working closely with head office colleagues, as a Business Development Manager you’ll be responsible for building and maintaining strong open business relationships with licensees in your allocated region, which currently consists of a portfolio of 43 public houses. Your remit will also cover recruitment of new suitably funded tenants.

Your main responsibilities and duties will include, although not be limited to;

* Conducting regular and effective business meetings with licensees, delivering appropriate levels of challenge and support to establish trust and confidence
* Developing and maintaining a clear operational plan to deliver your budget with a focus on the five key performance areas detailed below;
* Driving income and sales
* Reducing failure and improving average tenure
* Receiving payment
* Investing to maintain and grow income
* Reducing costs
* Supporting and improving existing tenant quality through utilisation of company training and development resources
* Delivering rental growth via effective business assessment, negotiation, capex and non-beer sales strategies
* Developing and maintaining an on-going capex programme to drive growth
* Delivering a pro-active recruitment plan that improves the calibre of licensees across the area and recruiting suitably funded tenants and work effectively with the credit team

To be considered for this Business Development Manager role, you MUST have the following experience, skills, knowledge and attributes;

* Proven experience of profit responsibility within a customer facing multi-site management role, ideally gained within the hospitality sector
* Commercial acumen and numerate with the ability to interpret and challenge profit and loss reports, cash flows, business plans and other financial documents
* Commitment to succeed in a demanding role whilst working to high standards
* Excellent negotiation and influencing skills with the drive and determination to identify business development opportunities, build customer relationships and win profitable sales
* High level of problem solving and decision making skills
* Superb planning, organisation and prioritisation skills
* Ability to communicate and influence a wide range of people
* High level of computer literacy including Word, Outlook and Excel plus basic PowerPoint
* Full UK driving licence

Salary: Circa £57,600, negotiable dependent on experience, plus annual performance based bonus.

Benefits: Company car or car allowance, laptop, mobile phone, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, generous pension scheme with employer contribution of 7.5% to match employee contribution of 2.5%, income protection cover, death in service scheme, and private health care.

Contracted Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm. Flexibility will be required to meet business and licensee needs

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Field based visiting licensees across South and East Yorkshire, plus some of Derbyshire and Lincolnshire.
