Building Services Design Manager – (M&E)

OVERVIEW: Building Services Design Manager / Lead Design Engineer – Building Services + M&E (prior M&E Building Services design experience is ESSENTIAL!). Full time permanent role based in Cardiff office OR Birmingham office. My rapidly expanding prestigious client provides a wide range of pioneering civil engineering, construction and environmental services to both private and public sector organisations. Today my client employs well over 200 professionals in numerous offices all over the UK and are continuing to grow their business both geographically and through the range of services they offer. The Building Performance Engineering group offers the expertise required for world class environmental design of buildings including acoustics, building physics, façade performance, mechanical and electrical systems, lighting design, occupational analysis, public health engineering, and LZC technologies.
My client’s project experience is varied, and encompasses all sectors including commercial, industrial, manufacturing, logistics, heritage, retail, leisure and residential. Within these sectors they work for end user clients, investors, developers, architects, PM or engineer-led project teams. This diversity of work streams, and the fact all their team members work in every sector means they are constantly cross-pollinating ideas.

THE ROLE & PROFILE SOUGHT;
My client are looking for two senior Building Services Design Engineers to join their Building Performance Engineering team in the capacity as M&E lead in both their Cardiff and Birmingham offices respectively.

The right person will be a bright, enthusiastic, confident and highly ambitious individual who believes in their own ability to establish, grow and lead a team. For this, the individual must have real passion the industry and a strong desire to challenge conventional thinking to constantly evolve and stay ahead in a fast changing market. A long track record of operating at management level is by no means a pre-requisite, the right individual may well be someone who believes they have the skills and tenacity but has not yet had the chance to operate at this level.

My client have ambitious plans to shake up the market by rolling out the contemporary M&E service which has proven to be so successful for them elsewhere in the country. For this to happen they need the right person to lead and drive things forward. The opportunity to be part of an exciting company with such ambitious plans will really resonate with the right candidate. The work they are targeting is in a range of sectors and locations including international but their plan is to build a Wales and Midlands-centric team who are capable of tackling large, challenging projects alongside teams elsewhere in the country.
