The role of Area Manager is to optimise the sales and contribution of a group of stores, whilst maintaining effective control of costs. You will lead by example by driving KPIs through effective people management, good staff retention and effective recruitment.
Principle responsibilities and duties:
• Management responsibility for the development and achievement of overall area sales and profit contribution.
• Recruitment, performance management, motivation, training and development of Store Managers and Sales teams
• Develop and implement effective sales ideas being commercially aware to maximise business opportunities
• Promote good customer service practices
• Implement corporate retail sales strategy
• Formulate and execute a defined store visit schedule, taking account of individual store and/or business needs
• Control shrinkage, labour costs, overheads (direct and indirect) and discounts to within defined limits
• Control accuracy of store stock files to within defined limits
• Proactively promote data collection to achieve company targets
• Proactively promote sales calls to achieve company targets
• Demonstrate an inclusive approach towards the company, Area Manager team, stores and environment
• Promote and maintain safe working practices
To be considered you will need to have a store and area manager background from multi-site retail with hard goods or automotive products. Key to your success will be your passion for the learning the full product range to lead by example and your drive to succeed through developing the teams.
