Area Manager (Graduate Training Scheme) – Leeds – Kumon Educational

Based in Leeds, with regional travel

£28,200 rising to £29,400 after 6 months and £30,600 after full 12 month training programme

ITN Mark Education is currently working in partnership with Kumon Educational, the UK’s leading supplementary education provider, to recruit a talented Area Manager to work across Leeds and the wider area. The main purpose of this permanent role is to grow and develop the education centres across the region, building awareness of the Kumon brand.

Your first 12 months will be spent on a thorough training scheme to give you a full understanding of the Kumon programme. This will include attending seminars, working in a centre and gradually taking over the Area Manager role. To provide the best training experience and the best support for this role, the initial six months will be based in our Manchester office. Accommodation (if required), travel and subsistence will be provided during this period.

After successful completion of this training scheme, you will be responsible for providing hands-on, practical support and guidance to Kumon Instructor franchisees within your geographical area, supporting them in every aspect of their business. Through regular visits and individual meetings you will mentor, coach and train them to ensure they exceed their and Kumon’s business plans. You will also be responsible for providing suggestions and advice on how to manage their centres more productively, resolve any problems and issues and devising strategies to increase brand awareness in your region.

The successful candidate will have a passion for education, but an education background is not a prerequisite. You must have a strong academic background and a degree or equivalent is essential. This is a varied and challenging role, therefore the successful applicant must have proven experience as a forward thinking, self-motivated and driven individual in a work setting, who is able to build excellent relationships with colleagues and clients alike. You will have a good understanding of business with excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills and have the potential to become a strong leader who inspires those around you. Proficiency in Maths and strong verbal and written English is vital to the role, therefore you must hold a B or above in GCSE Maths and English.

The role is based in Leeds and covering an area of up to 150 miles, so you must be flexible with travel and working hours and hold a full driving licence.
