Position: Application Developer

Location: Redhill

Salary: £36,000 – £54,000

My client are a highly successful Financial Services company with a thriving IT function. They require an experienced Application Developer with a strong background in C# and .Net technologies. The role will be to design, develop, enhance, test, support and maintain the technology solutions within websites, applications, portals and tools within a Microsoft Technologies platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirements analysis to gain an understanding of business needs to develop level of effort estimates, software design and development, unit testing, performing design and code reviews, and development of technical documentation
• Perform system analysis, code modifications, and functional testing to troubleshoot application production issues
• Responsible for the maintenance of the technology solutions and the data held by these
• To develop reliable and scalable solutions to meet organisational needs
• Translate user requirements into detailed design specifications to deliver effective solutions
• Design, develop and test software products, ensuring test processes are followed, known bugs are fixed, and regression testing is performed when necessary
• To manage the delivery of reporting tools to ensure accurate and cost effective data reporting
• Create and maintain application documentation, including Technical Specifications, Database Maps, Data Dictionaries and Stored Procedure lists
• Use best practice tools and agile development methodologies including iterative development, and unit testing for all designed deliverables
• Attend internal/client facing meetings as required to ensure delivery of all projects and maintenance of high customer satisfaction levels

Key Skills

• Strong background in application development, with the desire to research and learn new skills and technologies as they become available
• Strong skills in C# asp.net, .NET (version 4+), HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, VB and VB Script and CSS programming languages
• Coding, testing and implementing solutions in a Microsoft environment. Technical proficiency in Client/Server technologies
• Experience in database design, development and support using SQL Server 2005/2008/2012+
• Knowledge of using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Excel
• Experience in planning, executing and reporting on various forms of testing, including system or integration testing, performance and regression testing
• Experience in working within an Agile environment
• Hands on experience in producing technical functional specifications and workflows.
• Knowledge of full software development lifecycle
