Senior Aerospace Thermal Engineering

Salary: £26,000 – £35,100 per year

We are looking for an Aerospace Inspector to join our Inspection team in Royston. You will have experience of working in a hands-on inspection environment and knowledge/use of basic inspection equipment, gauges & Inspection processes.

You will Inspect a variety of fabricated products for the main world players in both engine and airframe manufacturing around the world.

As part of the inspection team you will inspect a large diverse variety of parts manufactured at the Royston site, responsible for ensuring the quality and conformity of the products delivered to our customers. You will also participate in other activities related to quality control and work with other internal functions to continuously identify inspection improvements and efficiency savings.

We are willing to further your training and knowledge on our latest laser scanning Faro Arm and CMM technology along with carrying out GR&R, MSA and SPC.

Salary: £26,000 – £35,100 per year (depending on experience)

Aerospace Inspector Duties:

  • Inspection of parts (Work in Progress / Final product), and associated paperwork against the applicable requirements and drawing configuration at the relevant stages in the manufacturing process.
  • Use of conventional inspection methods in accordance with the inspection plans.
  • Carry out inline process and product inspections throughout the factory
  • Raise non-conformances reports in accordance with the quality system
  • Support in problem solving activities within the company’s continuous improvement program
  • Actively participate in safety improvement activities
  • Perform all reasonable requests made by management

Aerospace Inspector Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation (drawings, specifications and procedures)
  • Experience in using standard measuring equipment (i.e. vernier calipers, micrometre, height gauges, radius gauges etc.)
  • Working knowledge/experience of engineering drawings and the use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. (GT & D.)
  • Must be able to communicate in English effectively (written & verbal)
  • Able to work as part of a team and under own initiative.
  • Flexible in working hours to support business needs when required. 
  • Good computer literacy
  • Willingness to learn new skills.

Desirable:

  • A working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100
  • Laser scanning, CMM and FARO ARM experience (willing to train the right candidate)
  • Knowledge & use of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and Measurement Control Systems (Statistical Process Control)
