Accounts Assistant. Chartered institute Central London. Full Time Permanent role. Up to £33k plus Study Support plus Benefits.
A stunning opportunity for a part qualified or QBE Accounts Officer to join the team of highly respected Chartered Institute in central London.
Job purpose
The financial accounts officer will support the finance director in managing the requirements of the department with particular emphasis on the periodic management accounts production and the purchase ledger maintenance and provide back up support to the management accounts officer
Key responsibilities
- Process periodic management accounts journals.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts.
- Monitor bank balances & cash flow : credit card, paypal & BACS a/cs
- Liaise with non finance staff on sales ledger issues.
- Process sales ledger invoices and credit notes.
- Process sales ledger receipts.
- Process non sales ledger receipts.
- Maintain sales ledger customer records.
- Manage aged debtors.
- Cover for the management accounts officer as and when necessary.
Personal skills and experience
Candidates must ideally demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience in a similar environment with relevant experience of accounts work
- Knowledge and experience of working with a computerised accounts programme and databases ( Sage, Accounting Office, Integra)
- Numerate with a clear understanding of accounting procedures and a sound knowledge of business processes and procedures
- An accounting technician qualification or a part qualified accountant qualification or qualified by experience
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to build strong working relationships with a broad range of internal and external contacts, including members, colleagues and suppliers
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Honest and trustworthy
- Computer literate with a good practical working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including, Word, Excel and Outlook, and database experience
- Proactive, focused and organised in approach, with demonstrable experience of delivery on time and in support of organisational objectives
- Track record of quickly developing skills and absorbing new information
- Evidence of commitment to continual learning and best practice approaches
- Excellent team player with a positive approach to new challenge
Salary
£33,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefit package.

Annual leave entitlement
23 days annual leave entitlement in the first 12 months, increasing to 30 days. Plus bank holidays.
Probation review
Probationary period of six months, followed by formal performance reviews, carried out by the Finance Manager.
Working hours
Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm. However, the nature of the role may require additional out of office hours from time to time.
