Our client is a small, specialist IT company that uses Microsoft technology to provide superb network design, installation and maintenance services. They work with a variety of businesses across the country, from SMEs to charities. They are now looking for a 2nd Line Helpdesk Support Engineer to join their team.

As a 2nd Line Helpdesk Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing a superb level of support to customers using our client’s IT services.
Working as part of the helpdesk team, your day-to-day duties will include logging new calls, providing telephone support, using remote support tools to assist users, monitoring client systems, remote network administration and assisting 1st Line Engineers.
To be considered for this role, you must have at least three years’ experience in a similar IT support role, including a minimum of one year’s Microsoft Server support experience. You must also have experience of the following:
– Microsoft Server 2003, 2008 and 2012
– Microsoft Exchange 2003, 2007 and 2013
– Microsoft Windows XP, 7 and 8
– Microsoft Office 2007, 2010 and 2013
– Active Directory
– Remote desktop services and/or terminal services
– Hyper-V
– Network printers
– MAC OS X
– Networking (DNS, TCP/IP, VPN, Proxy)
– Firewalls, including configuration
– Anti-virus and spam filters
An IT qualification such as MCP, MCSA, MCSE or MCITP is also essential.
As a 2nd Line Helpdesk Support Engineer, you must be analytical with a great eye for detail and excellent problem solving skills.
Please note, although currently based in Buckingham, our client will be relocating to Milton Keynes at the end of May 2015.
