24 Hour Operations Team leader

Description of Project:
This role will undertake day to day monitoring via Service and Enterprise Management Tools and respond to events relating to the entire infrastructure. Responsible for the timely identification and reporting of all security events on the DII/F system for RESTRICTED and SECRET.
Ensuring that all security incidents are reported to the ATLAS MRC within the JSP541 reporting timescales to ensure that the ATLAS MRC can pass the information onto the DCIRT in a timely manner
The primary site for this role is Globe House, Bracknell. Travel and work needs at other locations may be limited to the primary location. However, there is a strong likelihood that travel to other DII/F Programme sites will be required on an irregular basis.
Monitoring via Service and Enterprise Management Tools and responding to events relating to entire infrastructure including:
Server/desktop
Server Services
Cluster status
Backups
Monitor all equipment, software and user accounts for evidence of security incidents in accordance with the accredited security processes and report to the security operations team any real or potential security incidents
IOG Monitoring
Software Distribution
Patching of Tier 1, 2 and 3 servers
Rebuilding of UADs
Installation of Software
Anti Virus Monitoring and Deployment
Ensure that all servers and UAD’s have up to date anti virus definitions using the McAfee EPO console.
Liaise with NOC/SOC and Duty Manager to ensure progression of any security incidents.
Incidents and Alerts
Management of Major Incidents relating to the DII/F Infrastructure.
Issue User Awareness via CASD.
Liaise with NOC/SOC and Duty Manager to ensure progression of incidents
Heightened/Critical User Support
Out of hours 1st and 2nd line support for Heightened/Critical Users.
Liaison with on call RG representatives.
Web Support

Skills – Mandatory:
Good recording and administration skills
DV Clearance or ability to gain clearance
Good customer facing skills
1st Line fix experience
TSS.2 Skills

Skills – Useful:
Will need to be conscientious; have an eye for detail and accuracy; be self-motivated but also work as part of a team; be a good communicator; be able to quickly learn and implement
Programme specific methodologies; be able to present ideas to a wide audience; be pragmatic, but when required will be able to enforce the prevalent requirements and standards.
