My client are a services company with a national presence, Head Quartered in Darlington. Through creating a brand that is known for excellence, they have now grown to be market leaders in their industry sector. Due to continued growth within the organisation, they are now looking to add to their current internal IT department.

The purpose of this role is to be the first point of contact for IT issues to internal users within the organisation. This will be carried out both on site and remotely. Due to the size of the IT department, my client are looking for someone who is a self starter, and eager to learn through self study and on the job training. This is an ideal role for someone at the start of their IT career looking to develop within a growing organisation.

Key tasks associated with the role will include:

• Managing a helpdesk environment, supporting internal users within the organisation.
• Providing desk-side assistance when required.
• Escalating technical issues to the relevant person within the IT Department.
• Create a knowledge base for users on recurring issues and new technology introduced to the business.
• Involvement in various projects within the business e.g. rollouts, site moves.
• New starter setups and training.

Essential experience required:

• Experience of providing helpdesk or application support.
• Experience of supporting desktops, laptops and printers.
• Experience of supporting MS Windows 7+ OS.
• Experience of using MS Active Directory for the creation and management of user accounts.
• Experience of using/supporting MS Office 365.
• Experience of providing support in a multi-site organisation and/or professional services organisation is desirable.
• Experience of supporting mobile devices is desirable.
• An IT related degree or relevant industry experience.
