Air Quality Consultant

Location: Midlands or North West

Salary: £26-25K

My client is one of the world’s leading engineering and design consultancies with offices around the globe. They pride themselves on providing quality services that transform the built environment and the natural environment.

This consultancy is looking for an ambitious Air Quality Graduate to work in either their Midlands or North West office and further develop the success in delivering first class assessments to clients.

You will be undertaking various project work covering a range of sectors such as power generation, property development, retail and highways, with the key objective of furthering this consultancy’s capability in the renewable energy and waste fields.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

• Undertake air quality assessments, as part of EIAs and stand-alone reports, for both our internal and external clients, covering a range of sectors including property development, highways, waste and industry.
• Liaise with internal and external clients, partners and stakeholders (under supervision) to seek information and input data required for the air quality assessment work to be undertaken
• Work under the clear direction of others within the team
• Processing survey results and reporting
• Contribute to and assist in preparation of reports applying acceptable technical writing skills
• Provide general assistance to project managers
• Undertake site visits as required to deploy site specific monitoring surveys

You must ideally have:
• An appropriate degree or equivalent, in a relevant science (e.g. environmental science, chemistry, atmospheric physics, mathematics) and a post-graduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. MSc Air Pollution Management, Atmospheric Physics, Environmental Technology) would be highly beneficial
• Excellent communication skills
• Previous experience in report writing
• A full clean UK Driving Licence.
• Good knowledge of ADMS Roads and 5 modelling requirements and procedures with experience is essential.
• Experience in using ARCGIS
• Good understanding of the UK legislation, Policy and Guidance for air quality
• Good understanding of the EIA and planning system;
• Must be able to understand quality review and assessment principles and methodology
