Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary/Introduction

Due to a business re-structure my client based in South Yorkshire are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Supervisor to run an established, time served team of mechanical and electrical maintenance engineers.

Based on the South Yorkshire manufacturing site you will have responsibility for 10-15 engineers.

Duties include:

Providing hands on engineering cover for all production requirements including scheduled & breakdown maintenance activities & troubleshooting equipment failures.
Reviewing daily machine performance and reliability to maximise their contribution to the Production plan and create job schedules.
Building and develop an engineering team if and when required.
Developing continuous improvement initiatives within the factory from an engineering perspective.
Improving processes through the application of techniques (OEE, SMED, 5S, Six Sigma).
Supporting the implementation of new products and processes
Identifying best practice throughout all engineering applications.
Working in conjunction with the Head of Production to discuss specifications and procedures.
Assisting in the management of all specified operational delivery requirements and company objectives in accordance with established standards, policies and procedures.
Ensuring that Health & Safety policies and procedures are adhered to, including wearing appropriate PPE, and curtailing and preventing unsafe practices of employees, contractors and visitors.I am looking for candidates with;

Educated to degree level or completed an appropriate engineering apprenticeship to become a mechanical or electrical biased engineer.
Ability to implement PPM systems.
Good H&S Knowledge.
Must be well motivated, flexible and able to work on their own initiative.
Flexible approach.
Enjoys challenge.
Excellent people and communications skills.
