Lead Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £54,000 – £66,000 per year

My privately owned client based in Huntingdon have seen record growth and expansion over the last two years, and continue to have ambitious plans for the future.

With several modernisation and improvement strategies identified and in the pipeline for development, they are looking to recruit two experienced and dynamic Lead Engineers to work closely with the Head of Operations in delivering their next phase of growth. With the business embarking on a move towards automation within their new factory, they require both an experienced Electrical Engineer, and also a counterpart Mechanical Engineer to lead and develop the machinery processes within their individual disciplines.

This is an unusual hybrid role, with the successful candidate not only leading their discipline within the maintenance team and the engineering assets, but also being part of a management team in an operational capacity, contributing to business improvement and productivity efficiency projects on a daily basis.

Ideally you will qualified in either an apprenticeship or vocationally attained standard in engineering or manufacturing, and be able to demonstrate at least 5 years experience in a similar senior or leadership role. A background in CI and Lean is essential, along with strong understanding through previous involvement of CAPEX and managing projects. This is a hands on role, with the need for the successful candidate to be someone who can actively improve machinery and processes, whilst also providing support to manufacturing in their requirements for breakdown or repair.

My client offer a strong salary and benefits package, but the expectation is that this will grow with the successful candidate over time.
