Our client is the UK’s largest independently-owned provider of integrated waste management and environmental services. A vacancy currently exits for a Waste Facility Manager to take responsibility for the safe and efficient operations of one of the company’s Material Recovery Facilities (MRF) and Transfer Stations. You will ensure that both facilities comply with all relevant Health & Safety (H&S) requirements and environmental regulations.

The MRF has a permitted capacity of 39,400 tons per annum, predominantly handling mixed recyclables and other source-segregated materials for processing. As Waste Facility Manager, you will manage and motivate a team of eight, observing all current H&S and HR employment policies and procedures.

Candidate Requirements:

* Relevant experience within the waste management industry in a supervisory/managerial role and with MRF and Transfer Station experience.

* Commercial awareness, sound judgement, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

* Up to date knowledge of employment requirements e.g., good working knowledge of investigation, disciplinary, grievance and dismissal procedures; absence management; working time regulations etc.

* Current COTC qualification (or are working towards) and IOSH Managing Safely qualification.

* Full UK driving licence

Working hours: 40 hours per week: 7.30am to 4.30pm, Mon-Fri, although flexibility may be required with start and finish times and working additional hours to meet the needs of the business.
