Lee and Plumpton are a leading manufacturer of office furniture who sell product primarily via the dealer and specification route.
The Role
Reporting to the commercial Director your main responsibilities will be to establish and maintain the Transport function so that it delivers an excellent value-added service across the company. This includes the provision of cost effective, timely and good quality Transport solutions. The role will be responsible for developing a strategy that will support our strategic plans and operational requirements.
The Candidate
As an experienced transport professional, you will be able to:
* Develop and implement a transport strategy to support strategic objectives, targets and the application of best practice.
* Effectively communicate and provide strong management through the transport team.
* Keep abreast of industry-wide best practice techniques and strategies, and develop and implement where appropriate
* Ensure relevant legislation is observed and adhered to e.g. drivers hours, tachographs etc.
* Investigate and report customer comments and customer returns.
* Produce monthly management reports detailing fuel costs, efficiency etc
* Take responsibility for the Health & Safety of all Transport staff whilst at work.
* Have a proven track record in Transport with current CPC.
Salary Banding for role is £36,000plus according to experience.
