Salary: £36,000 – £38,400 per year
We are delighted to be working with one of our long-term clients as we are looking to recruit for a full-time experienced Transport Manager. The client is looking for someone who has been in the profession for more than 3 years.
As the Transport Manager you will be responsible for the following:
- Organising and overseeing all health and safety checks, including routine vehicle checks and adhering to both company and statutory requirements
- Involved in strategic development and the maintaining of any administrative records, regularly communicating with the customer service team and operations manager to ensure smooth operation of the business
- Be fully aware of all transport legislation and procedures to ensure company compliance
- Liaising and booking in deliveries with customers
- Arranging collections and deliveries with suppliers where appropriate
- Planning routes for each day
- Corresponding with the team leaders and customer service departments regarding returned goods and samples. Taking appropriate action to remedy faults, satisfy sample demands and ensure paperwork/system records are completed accurately
- Monitor and maintain drivers’ records, safety equipment and tools
- Monitor and send monthly reports to the general manager with delivery costs and fuel consumption
- Arrange carrier and collections for local couriers.
A good level of verbal and written communication is a necessity, along with numeracy and a high level of professionalism within customer service. Applicants must show/have some flexibility as you may be required to work longer days when needed.
A CPC holder would be beneficial.

Monday to Thursday 08:00-17:00
Friday 08:00-12:30
This is a temp to perm position and will result in full time permanent position once a qualified period is completed.
