Traffic Planner / Distribution Coordinator

Our Ipswich based client is looking for a motivated Traffic Planner/ Distribution Co-ordinator.

The successful candidate will join the running of a busy UK Transport Operation, involving both own-vehicles, sub contract work and pallet network. The company is a stable and expanding business.

Duties:
•Plan work to ensure driver hour regulations are complied with and that vehicle weights are not exceeded
•Liaise with drivers and subcontractors throughout the day to ensure deliver and collection times are met
•Carry out all associated administration.

This position is office based but will require an understanding of the interaction between the administrative processes and physical operations of transport and warehousing.

Ideal skills and experience:
•Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft packages
•Professional and polite telephone manner
•Experience of producing quotations
•Use of Destin8 and other freight related software will be advantageous and beneficial.
•You will be motivated and seeking a continued career within transport and logistics.

Please note to be successful in this role, you must have good geographical understanding of the UK.

Hours: 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday – to include early or late work as required.

Salary: £26,000per year, dependant on experience. Free parking and other associated benefits.
