Group Transport Planner (Food Manufacturing / Distribution)

Salary: £45,600 – £48,000 per year

A leading and expanding FMCG Food & Distribution Manufacturer are currently recruiting for a Group Transport Planner. This is a hands on role and will require solid knowledge of Paragon Routing with Multi Drop experience. The role is not primary logistics, more strategic route planning / process. A Food service / Food manufacturing background will be deemed advantageous.

Group Transport Planner responsibilities:

Monitoring and making sure adherence to driving rules and regulations.
Liaise with drivers, customers, suppliers and others as appropriate.
Work closely with sales and their requirements.
Communicate effectively with team members and harness good working relations.
Assist with the scheduling of Vehicles for service & maintenance checks.
Initiate appropriate corrective action when substandard performance or issues arise.
Undertake other duties from time to time, as and when required.
Attend Transport Team meetings and participate in team decisions and operations.
Ensure a seamless service to all customers.
Good understanding of the Drivers Hours, Rules & regulations. Inc WTD.
Communicate within the transport team, warehouse and sales teams to advise of planned routes, vehicle allocations and driver availability.
Managing multi-drop routes throughout the UK as efficiently as possible working with our own transport network as well as third party hauliers
Identifying if agency drivers may be required or additional drivers need recruiting to support

You will be a Transport Planner with Paragon routing and multi drop planning experience and a solid knowledge of the UK. This role will require a high level of organisational and administration skills.
