Plant/Machinery Stores Person

Work Wales are looking to recruit a Permanent Plant/Machinery Office Stores Person for our client. As a leading contractor and supplier of machinery and associated services across South Wales and the UK, this company are looking to secure a career focused and long term candidate to develop and take control of this role for the forseeable future. Based in the Aberdare area, you will be at this company’s head quarters, working closely with the workshop fitters, and those who are working directly on site repairing and maintainting machinery as required.

A good knowledge of Plant Machinery would be beneficial, as you will need to know what the function of the parts are as well as their placement/suitability for the tasks. In turn, this will help you with finding quick and simple solutions to problems that arise, and will allow you to come order required parts in good time.

A full UK driving licence will be required, as you will have to use company vehicles to delivery parts and move stock around various sites as required, sometimes at short notice to help with emergency repairs etc.

General duties:

Liaise with the workshop on a daily basis to assess parts requirements and Stores levels
Deliver vital emergency parts to site where required (use of company vehicle)
Manage the stores database and ensure accuracy
Update and input new stock information / Checking and verifying current holdings (IT literacy required)
Other duties in the offices as required, general stores administrationWorking hours:

Monday to Friday – 7:00am – 5:00pm
Saturday – 7:00am – 12:00pm Statutory holidays of 20 days plus 8 bank holidays (there will be some small shutdowns, for instance over Christmas, where holidays are needed.

Salary:

Negotiable depending on experience, but as a guideline – £20,000 – £25,000
