Quality Engineer

My client is looking for an experiecned Plant Quality Engineer to join an Automotive 1st tier business.

The Role
Reporting int o the Quality Mnaager (based on another site) you will be one of two Quality engineers to make up the Quality department.

Responsibilities include:

dealing with all product/ supplier related issues and meet customer expectations

attend all production quality issues and provide a high level of support to the plant

being responsible for quality performance

You may also be communicating with automotive clients, suppliers and customers

The key measures of performance will be the re-works and inspections, quality and environmental management systems and supporting the NPI process

Production support to include auditing and rootcause analysis leading to permanent solutions and Continual Improvement using the relevant tools and techniques such as PFMEA, 8D, SPC, 5Y

The Person
Based in the Birmingham plant, the Quality engineer needs the following:

ESSENTIAL

Applicants must have at least 2 years experience of Quality Engineering within an automotive business

Ideally you will have breadth of experience covering quality systems, quality engineering and supplier quality

It is essential that you are a good communicator and have good people skills

Ideal candidates will have a sound knowledge of TS16949/ISO

A working knowledge and experience with; SPC, FMEA, PPAP, 8D, 5Y, Control Plans are essential
