Professional Services Consultant – Implementation

This is an excellent opportunity for Service Delivery professionals to join an established software vendor specialising in the provision of IT Service Management, Service Desk and Customer Service software. Having already secured numerous clients throughout the UK across varying vertical markets, they are going from strength to strength by constantly developing and evolving their products by working closely with their existing and newly acquired client base.

The Role

The primary function of this role will be to work closely with new and existing clients to evaluate, scope and deliver the company’s ITSM solutions to their continually expanding client base on time, to budget and to the client’s specification.

As such, you will work closely with the client representatives in a wide range of organisations ensuring that the product is implemented to the customer’s satisfaction and also provide post implementation support and guidance, where needed. As well as new implementations, the role will also work with existing clients to develop improved solutions and upgrade of the company’s solution.

For this role, it is essential that candidates possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and are able to co-ordinate meetings with the client and provide guidance and direction for decisions to be reached. As such, you must be able to communicate with all levels of a client organisation.

Consultants will also work with closely members of the in-house pre-sales team and be an integral part of the project office. Projects will always require detailed scoping and documentation of the deliverables- this will be the responsibility of the consultant to engage with the client in a workshop scenario to establish detailed aspects of requirement.

Business Analysis skills will be advantageous, as would knowledge of IT Service Management processes/ITIL best practice framework and Prince 2 methodology.

Ideally candidates will have some good exposure to SQL as Consultants will be required to carry out a number of activities in SQL and, whilst training can be provided, if candidates already possess SQL skills that would be a very useful additional skill.

The SQL activities that the consultants will cover include:

• Perform basic administrative activities in SQL such as backups, restores, index rebuilds, health checks and other general maintenance activities
• Query and interrogate an SQL database
• Modify existing SQL reports
• Complete data import requirements document for an SSIS package to be successfully produced
• Install SSIS import packages
• Run data import packages on client sites
• Run scripts to clear down a database
• AD integration
• Error Testing
• Capture data requirements from customers to ensure successful data transfer from other systems is successful.

Projects will be primarily delivered on customer sites, so travel and overnight stays are an integral part of the role. When not working on customer sites, consultants will be expected to attend the head office in Surrey on a regular basis in order to completely fulfil the role.

The technology enables new products to be readily ‘configured’ to meet specific business process needs and is based on an HTML 5 web platform. The ‘products’ provide solutions for IT Service Management and Service Desk scenarios, as well as Managed Service Providers, Customer Service and Case Management requirements. It is a 100% browser based web application, which is accessible from all technologies machines and can be deployed locally or in ‘The Cloud’. Knowledge of HTML 5 Front End technology with an SQL server database will be an advantage.

Full training on the company’s products will be provided to enable you to comprehend the systems and enable you to be successful in this role but you MUST be able to demonstrate excellent communication, customer facing and service management experience.
