Accountancy / Practice Director

Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year

Location: Bournemouth

Hours; Full or ¾ part time

Package: £25-£35k doe + bonus and brilliant opportunity for equity ownership

* Quarterly bonus scheme based on profitability of the firm

* 20% equity accrued over a 2-year period, sharing in dividend income and the capital exit of the business

My client is a well-established accountancy practice based in Bournemouth. With a push towards growth over the next 2-5 years they now have a unique and exciting opportunity to lead their well-regarded, friendly, and ambitious firm of Chartered Accountants.

This new role of Practice Director will be instrumental in driving the firm forwards both with internal development initiatives and growth through acquisition.

This role will suit a qualified Chartered Accountant focussed on client delivery and with an entrepreneurial spirit. It will be down to you to proactively progress the business, own the P&L but also have an Owner who will mentor and support you.

This role will suit someone who is ACA qualified or equivalent and has ambition. There is a great opportunity here to help modernise and digitise the practice. In time another accountancy practice may be acquired which the successful candidate would oversee, so there is huge scope for development and growth.

The successful candidate will

* Be ACA qualified

* Boast public practice experience, ideally small or medium sized firm, minimum of 5 years

* Be confident in getting to know their mix of clients ranging from sole traders through to larger Limited companies

Working from their offices in Bournemouth (which offer free parking) my client can offer a high degree of flexibility if the job gets done – this can include full or part time and term time only working as well as some remote working

Role and Accountabilities.

The Practice Director, a varied and versatile role, will:

* Lead, coach and mentor the team of 3 staff

* Act as principal of the firm in all client relationships, ensuring quality, accuracy and client service

* Grow the client base through new marketing, branding and outreach initiatives

* Improve internal processes to streamline and digitise the practice

* Assist the current owner-Director (part time, ex-EY, FCA) with

* Optimising the profitability of the business

* ICAEW practice assurance and standards

* the strategic objective of growth through acquisition of other local practices

* growing fee income from £150k to £500k organically and acquisitively in three years
