Business Development Manager

Salary: £30,000 – £36,000 per year

My client were set up in 1985 when the noticed a gap in the market for a more professional, centralised approach to security. From their headquarters in Suffolk, they have grown a respected business that provides a professional, tailored service to an extensive list of clients in the Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Thetford, Ely, Newmarket and Ipswich area. Their relationships with clients tend to last, with several contracts dating back to their very early days. Their services include CCTV monitoring; Mobile Patrol and Key holding services and static manned guarding. They are NSI gold accredited and hold approved contractor status with the SIA. They have recently expanded their product offer further by forming a sister company to provide First Aid, Health & Safety and Manned Guarding training. 

I am currently working in partnership with them to appoint a Business Development Manager. This is a new position to the company, with the purpose of the role being to sell the company’s security and training services across East Anglia. The role holder will be responsible for developing a strategy to grow the company’s client base. The role will involve the full 360 degrees of the sales process from initial lead finding through to tender/bid writing and closing.

Applicants for the role should have a well-rounded knowledge of the sales cycle and know how to sell a service. Candidates for the Business Development Manager role must possess strong communication skills (both verbally and written) with good telephone and presentation skills. Demonstrate excellent levels of commercial awareness and have an excellent knowledge of the marketplace. Ambition, drive and self motivation is a must! Candidates will reside within approximately twenty miles of Bury St Edmunds. Experience of selling manned guarding services is preferable but candidates from other B2B service sales backgrounds will be considered. 

The commission structure and targets will be mutually agreed. IT equipment such as laptop will be provided. 

Basic salary £30,000 – £36,000company car, NEST pension and 20 days holiday
