Senior Assay Development Scientist – PCR

Our client is an exciting molecular diagnostics company based in the North West who is looking for a talented and passionate Senior Assay Development Scientist to join the team.

As a lab-based scientist you will be heavily involved in development programmes whilst ensuring effective and timely delivery of laboratory studies. Maintaining project technical file documentation in line with EQMS as well as the ability to analyse, interpret, critique, document and review data within the team is essential to the role.

To succeed you will need to be able to demonstrate all of these competencies:-

* Results orientated, naturally inquisitive, critical and driven to investigate.

* Excellent knowledge and understanding of molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry or related disciplines.

* Exacting in your communication with excellent scientific understanding with ability to critique interpret complex data and articulate clearly to colleagues.

* Extensive experience of molecular assay development; Minimum of 3 years’ related experience gained in industry.

* Strong ownership and accountability of deliverables, projects and due dates.

* Experience working within a Quality Management System required for ISO and CE/IVD molecular diagnostics.

You should be qualified to MSc/PhD level in a relevant scientific discipline, together with a minimum of 3 years industry experience within an in vitro diagnostic setting using fluorescent based PCR and/or isothermal methods. You should also have a strong working knowledge of design control procedures & ISO 13485.
