Project Manager – Civil Engineering

We are a specialist Civil Engineering recruitment firm placing staff and contract hire into major civil engineering contractors.

One of our partners has been successful in a number of tenders resulting in a need to recruit 2 no full time civil engineering Project Managers to join this busy and progressive company.

Project Manager

As Project Lead of a civil engineering and structures package, you will be tasked with the planning and scoping of the project, pre-start meetings with the client, co-ordinating and management all engineering elements on site, continual programming of the package and ensuring a safe, timely, profitable and quality product.

You will be responsible for pulling the team together, developing the relationship with the Principal Contractor, assist the estimators with the front end of the tenders, programming & planning, phasing documents, method statements, presentations and client meetings. On site you will be tasked with co-ordinating all works surrounding the engineering and production of the package and liasing closely with the commercial department to ensure the site is running profitably and to schedule.

You will have an active role in ensuring all Health and Safety standard are adhered to and your own company’s inductions are comprehensive and cover all risks and hazards on site.

You will have an approachable but stern man management style and have a demonstrable background in managing a civil engineering workforce to a tight program.

Having worked your way up from Site Engineer – Agent – Manager, you will be degree qualified in Civil Engineering and possess an SMSTS as well as relevant H+S and industry specific courses. You will be ambitious in all aspects of your career and should be keen to attend further training on different construction methods and H+S initiatives.

These projects being carried out by this contractor in Glasgow include but are not limited to, Education, Leisure, Commercial and Energy projects. All civil engineering packages within the construction projects are of moderate – high value and scoped tightly thus requires an organised and effective Project Manager to deliver on time and within budget.
