Payroll Manager

Accountancy Action is recruiting for a well known business in the Birmingham area that has had a lot of publicity recently due to recent M&A activity.

This is a great job and a great company to work for; they have won several investors in people awards throughout their existance and will go the extra mile to devise a clear career development plan.

This is a permanent position and the successful candidate will enjoy a salary ranging between £42,000 – £48,000.

The technical payroll experience should be a given but it’s more about the person and their attitude towards payroll and getting it right first time. You need to be very through and meticulous with your data and work.

The role:

• Overseeing the day-to-day payroll service for over 5000 employees.
• Overseeing and advising on the implementation and practical function of the Workplace Pension.
• Advising the business of performance, overtime, and absence hours and costs with KPIs.
• Managing the impact of the holiday pay court ruling and developing strategies and systems to facilitate the calculation process.
• Analysing payroll data, reporting and providing recommendations to the Board of Directors on future strategy.
• Implementing and improving processes to ensure accuracy and compliance of the payroll function.
• Developing and coaching the payroll team to provide the best possible and most up-to-date service.
• To support the IT department with on-going challenges around their T&A system.

PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP, SAP, SPP and P11d’s knowledge is a must and you must be able to show competencies within these areas during the interview.
