Aftercare Technician

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

O’Rourke Personnel are currently recruiting for an Aftercare Technician for a well established and well known constrcution company based in Harpenden.The role would suit a person who is friendly, outgoing and who has a natural flair as a general handyman, general builder or multitrade background. It requires the rectification and completion of snagging and defect items before and after the handover of the property. The ideal candidate would be a multi-talented handyman with a pleasant ‘can do’ attitude who is happy to work alone, on their own initiative or as part of a team.

The role will include, but not be limited to:

• Any items deemed to be an aftercare issue
• Filling, sanding down, stain-blocking, painting all types of wood or plaster finishes
• Fixing floor tiles, architraves, etc.
• Mastic seal in various applications
• Attending to loose pathways/paving
• Ease or adjust door/window catches, adjust door closers
• Small plumbing issues i.e., drain clearing, adjusting cistern flushes, etc.
• Re-align cabinet/unit doors
• Tiling (replacing cracked/broken tiles)
• Be able to inspect and review problem areas and help find solutions
• Be able to liaise with clients
• Be able to work from portable stairs/platforms/heights
• Adjust settings on various timing devices
• Uncouple and re-connect white goods, washing machines, dishwashers etc
• Erect shelves/curtain rail fixings
• Clean material splashes from various surfaces
• Order or pick up items for use as required

You will need to hold the following:

• A valid CSCS card
• First Aid qualififcation
• Full clean license
• Own tools
