Job Title: Production Chemist/Lab Technician
Location: Slough
Salary: £28,800 – £32,400 depending on experience along with a discretionary performance bonus.
The role of production chemist is an active position and as such may attract someone who thrives in a hands on, practical environment who doesn’t mind being on the move. As such, experience in a production laboratory environment is favourable. Listed below are a selection of jobs you as a production chemist may carry out on a typical day.
Main Duties
- Control and monitoring of sugar and syrup production.
- Addition of acids and bases to mixing vats.
- Controlling the inversion and neutralisation of batches of syrup.
- Sampling of vats and conducting Brix, pH, colour and polarisation tests during production.
- Implementation of a positive release production system.
- Completion of production related documentation.
- Conduct quality checks and sampling of raw materials and finished product tankers.
- Creation of Certificate of Analysis documentation.
Quality
- Ensure all SOP and HACCP procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure production documentation and final filling product checks are complete before product is released for filling.
- Conduct daily checks on stored product in holding tanks
- Routine calibration of testing equipment
Other Duties
- Help to minimise wastage of resources onsite by promoting good working practices
- Attend any meetings relevant to laboratory operations and activities.
- Carry out water sampling of production plant
