Salary: £38,958 – £48,540 per year
The National Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP) is a joint initiative between NHS England, Public Health England and Diabetes UK which aims to deliver services at a large scale for people already identified with non-diabetic hyperglycaemia. It offers high risk individuals, behavioural interventions to reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes through supporting them to lose weight, improve their diet and increase levels of physical activity.
The NDDP Manager will be responsible for:
– Contract delivery and performance in an area, including achieving target referral volumes for the service
– Day to day engagement with senior Clinical Commission Groups (CCG) and Local Authority stakeholder groups
– Developing and line management of key team members, including a Programme Coordinator and Educators
– Ensuring the area team is compliant with necessary training requirements for the NDPP
– Performance managing delivery of the local supply chain, including those delivering clinical diagnostics and local facilities
– Supporting the National Programme Director to recruit and retain Educators to deliver the programme
– Reporting on the core metrics of the programme in each responsible area
– Managing participants’ feedback and experience of the NDPP
The NDPP Manager will be required to work effectively with Ingeus’s national NDPP team, other NDPP local delivery areas and relevant corporate Departments such as the Communications and Marketing team to ensure the successful delivery of the NDPP to expected outcomes.
Line Management
Recruit and line manage key team members, including a Programme Coordinator and Educators
Ensure the area team is compliant with necessary training requirements for the NDPP
* Provide clear, strong and inspirational leadership to the local NDPP team in which performance is regularly reviewed and staff are highly motivated, engaged and equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience necessary to demonstrate their full potential
* Establish a culture of continuous improvement within the team
Delivery
* Take on overall responsibility for the delivery and performance of NDPP behavioural interventions in an area
* Collaborate and communicate effectively with Ingeus’s national NDPP team to ensure local area delivery requirements are appropriately considered and incorporated in the development of operational processes and systems, and that effective guidance and resources are available to support delivery
Identify and arrange services to deliver the NDPP Programme in a local area, including facilities, workforce and IT
* Oversee effective scheduling of Initial Assessments and sessions for participants
* Performance manage delivery from the local supply chain, including those delivering clinical diagnostics and local facilities, and seek to continuously improve their service over time
* Recruit and retain Educators on a full-time and sessional basis to deliver the programme, and provide a forecast view of required resources and skills gaps
* Report on the core metrics of the programme using Microsoft Office to present management information.
* Adhere to Ingeus and programme policies, including participant confidentiality and rights to privacy, safety and dignity at all times
Engagement
* Day-to-day engagement with senior CCG and Local Authority stakeholder groups, including clinical leads, General Practitioners, practice nurses, diabetic specialist nurses/teams and allied health professionals as required
* Able to present and explain the NDPP to healthcare professionals as above
* Manage participants’ feedback and complaints of the NDPP in each area
* Work with Ingeus’s Communications and Marketing team to ensure that there is an effective local communication and marketing strategy in place to support stakeholder management
* Work with other local prevention services and community services to inform them of the NDPP, and acts an outreach point for the NDPP service on a local management level
Other
Undertake projects and other responsibilities as required by the NDPP Programme Director
ESSENTIAL:
*Minimum of five years’ experience of working in a health management role
*Delivered excellent performance in past and current role
*Experience of leading and delivering programmes
*Experience of leading and developing team members
*Experience of successfully influencing and engaging with senior stakeholders and supply chain partners
DESIRABLE:
*Experience of managing the successful implementation and delivery of complex programmes in the NHS
*Experience of health coaching and behavioural management
*Knowledge of and relationships in the Local Health Economy, including with CCGs and Local Authority Public Health Teams
*Experience of using MS Project and Visio
