Shift Manager – Food Manufacturing

Our client is a large, multi-site manufacturer of chilled & fresh food, supplying into major UK retailers.
They are currently looking to recruit a Shift Manager with experience in chilled, fresh or ambient food to work in one of their sites in West Yorkshire.
Key responsibilities will include:
* To schedule and utilise the required labour for achievement of the production plan
To coordinate supplementary temps or agency support if planned labour exceeds the core labour numbers.
Ensure that all labour is appropriated trained for the task being performed. To achieve the daily and weekly production plan KPI`s so as to maintain customer service levels.
Monitor packing performance and efficiencies on an hourly, daily and weekly basis, identifying and challenging areas of concern.
Review the downtime analysis data provided as part of an on-going continuous improvement programme
To drive maintenance or improvement in planned machine rates, manning levels and to minimize change over times

As well as experience of managing staff within a food manufacturing environment, key skills will include:
