Breakdown Controller

Salary: £37,200 – £43,200 per year

Coinford Ltd is currently seeking to employ a Breakdown Controller. The role would be working with Coinford Plant Ltd who are an established and expanding tool and plant hire company supplying plant and tools for Coinford Construction, a large well-respected groundwork and concrete frame contractor based in Burstow near Horley, Surrey.
Job Description:
The Breakdown Controller is the main point of contact between Coinford Plant Ltd and its site customers, liaising with site, giving regular updates on job progress and any delays. The right candidate must have good communication skills and a proven successful team working background,
controlling a team of mobile fitters, service engineers & lifting inspectors. Managing their daily workloads, allocating jobs and ordering parts to ensure all work is carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner. Time is of the essence, as any plant down time can have costly implications, meticulous planning and organisation skills are needed.
Duties will include:
You will be responsible for monitoring and planning routine maintenance as well as planning routine lifting inspections. You will be required to organise external companies to arrange specialist repairs, hydraulic hoses, tyres, and glass, ensuring these repairs are carried out as quickly as possible.
Working in a busy office environment, receiving, and acting upon emails and phone calls, you must be able to work calmly under pressure and make decisions based on our customers ever changing requirements.
The ideal person will have:
* Previous experience in mechanical plant repairs is required to allow you to offer technical support and advice to our site customers to reduce the number of engineer call outs.
* A good level of IT skills, excel, word and Syrinx will all be used daily.
* You must be financially aware as there are many aspects of spending that will need to be tracked, monitored, and reviewed.
