(Company Secretary and Financial Accountant )

We are a highly successful, established, yet continually evolving manufacturing company seeking to appoint an experienced individual to act as our Company Secretary and Financial Accountant.

With a team of two reporting into you, you will undertake a pivotal key role managing Management Reporting and Financial Accounting responsibility for the business.

You will have the scope to look at ways of improving our business systems and financial practices with the assistance of a skilled team.

Key accountabilities will include:

Preparation of all Management Accounts spanning Year-end accounts, annual budget, credit control
Provision of a monthly report to the Managing Director and departmental assessment resulting from attending the monthly management meeting
Monitoring standard costing and Margin reports
Monitoring business costs and re-negotiating of contact e.g. mobile phones, company cars etc.
Financial Accounting – processing supplier invoices, preparing payments via BACS and other methods
Managing and overseeing a yearly stock count
Payroll responsibility
Completing annual return to companies house (in capacity as Company Secretary), VAT returns and auditing

To succeed in this interesting and varied role you will be qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or similar) with a track record of Financial Accounting within a SME environment. The ideal person will have worked in a manufacturing / engineering organisation previously however this is not a pre-requisite. The ability to manage small accounting team essential as is tangible experience producing year end and monthly accounts.
