HR Manager – Manufacturing (hourly paid)
Location: Multi-site Peterborough base
Salary: £45,600 – £54,000 + bonus + benefits
Our Client is a market leading FMCG manufacturing business looking for an exceptional HR manager to have full HR responsibility for the hourly paid agenda across three sites.
You will manage and support the HR Operations (Weekly paid) function by driving the people strategy across the business. You will be able to effectively influence and support the Operations management teams to adopt leadership and coaching styles in order to maximise the potential of their people. You will manage all areas of employee relations. The role will also have responsibility for the HR Advisors across the sites.
The role:
Effective management of all ER issues within the business, specifically within the manufacturing and production operations.
Helping to create an effective company culture – measured using regular employee engagement surveys within the group
Development of a high performing team; through a ‘coaching’ approach to people management.
Effective use of HR KPIs as part of reporting on business performance
Support of all audits, customer visits – particularly in key areas such as M&S validation, BRC, ETI audits.
Function lead regarding sourcing and management of agency labour during Events
Effective management of HR administration through HR teams.
Management of HR systems within the business
Communication: Communicate effectively at all levels across the organisation including, senior manager, customer and 3rd party supplier meetings as well as occasionally delivering board level presentations.
Development of productive relationships with senior Operations management team throughout the business.
Partnering the Operations Director on key change programmes
Management and measure performance of key agency providers – for weekly paid staff.
Working with the Head of HR to ensure policy implementation
Communicate all aspects of HR Policy to senior management team and become an ambassador for the function within the business.
Provide up to date HR advice for specific areas of technical responsibility
Maintain relationships with key 3rd parties to ensure an awareness of up to date legislation within the business.
Day to day management and performance management of direct reports.
The person:
Minimum L5 CIPD educated and willing to compete L7
Experience in a similar role having managed a highly capable HR team or function across a variety of tasks.
Must have HR experience gained within a manufacturing fast paced environment
Career background in senior HR roles or stepping into first leadership role, ideally within a FMCG environment.
Knowledge of the latest trends within the industry specifically agency labour and management of this.
Previous experience of working with major UK retailers with a well attuned understanding of their structures, requirements and expectations
Experience of a generalist role – covering recruitment, development, ER issues, engagement and reward.
Strong relevant systems and process knowledge
Strong leadership skills with a tendency to employ coaching solutions.
