Infrastructure Engineer

Salary: £48,000 – £60,000 per year

White Oak are currently recruiting for a full time Infrastructure Engineer to join the team based at our office in Chester.

What will I be responsible for?

As our Infrastructure Engineer, you will manage and maintain company firewall (Fortinet) according to best practices. You will also maintain company network infrastructure, ensuring remediation of all faults. Your responsibilities will also include:

• Configure, maintain and manage the company Avaya VOIP Telephony system
• 3rd party relationship management (vendor/support)
• Manage & maintain company server infrastructure, ensuring remediation of all faults.
• Monitor server infrastructure to ensure that the company has enough resources to facilitate its needs.
• Setup and configure business group policies
• Setup, manage and configure all server-based software including but not limited to IIS, SQL, File shares, Oracle, Exchange, SharePoint, TFS and Sysaid.
• Prevent or mitigate security incidents through proactive threat analysis and treatment
• Ensure that LDF security appliances work optimally and are utilised according to best practice
• Manage and assure the business’ DR and BCP Plans
• Conduct, arrange and remediate 3rd party penetration tests
• Investigate and deliver new and relevant technologies, policies, processes and procedures
• Conduct due diligence on 3rd Party IT systems
• Ensure that company cloud infrastructure is secure and available

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal Infrastructure Engineer will have previous 2nd or 3rd line support experience alongside networking experience (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, WLAN, Switching, Routing, policy-based Firewalls, VPN, Private Cloud). You will also have the following skills and competencies:

• Web Gateways / Proxy Servers
• Microsoft Server Operating Systems
• Microsoft Office 365
• Knowledge/Interest of SQL
• Knowledge of Active directory
• Knowledge of Group policy management
• Knowledge of Veeam backup and resiliency
• Knowledge of AWS and/or Azure
• Knowledge of SAN technology
• Knowledge of Cloud configuration and security
• Knowledge of network best practices
• Knowledge of security best practices
• Knowledge of Avaya Aura phone architecture
• Microsoft Operating Systems, O365 and EMS

What can we offer you?

As our Infrastructure Engineer, you will receive a salary of £48,000 – £60,000 dependant on experience plus a range of benefits including Pension, Life Insurance, Healthcare Plan, Travel Insurance, Connect Retailer Discounts, Cycle to Work & Eye Tests.
