Infrastructure Engineer

Infrastructure Engineer – Fantastic opportunity with a global engineering organisation, a leader in their field. Primarily server support and implementation, with some backup (ideally you’ll have experience with Symantec Netbackup), VMware and project focussed work.

You’ll also be the technical to a couple of more junior infrastructure analysts.

The office in the UK is circa 700 in size and you’ll be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of over 100 servers (Dell).

This would be a perfect ‘next-step’ role for a motivated Systems Administrator or Systems Engineer – you’ll already need experience of 3rd line support, but you need not have worked with server installations in the 100’s!

role involved BAU as well as project focussed work, where you may lead the implementation of both local and global initiatives.

In particular, we are looking for candidates with some experience of technical team leadership, ideally with experience of the Symantec NetBackup platform.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Interface for Service Delivery with Site Management.
* Provide leadership for Team workload and priorities.
* Server Life-cycle (Purchasing, installation, maintenance, disposal)
* Fault finding and fixing problems within Service Level Agreements
* Architecting hardware and operating solutions for bespoke site-based projects
* Ensure regular and effective backups of company data
* Low level project management
* Adhere to corporate standards
* Provide 3rd level support for User Issues.

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:
* Fluent English
* Extensive Microsoft Windows Server® technology experience
* Good Knowledge and understanding of Symantec NetBackup
* Good Knowledge of VMWare Hypervisor/VSphere
* Good project management and communication skills
* Understanding of ITIL v3 ( Foundation level certified )

Desirable:
* Linux
* VBScript
* ISCSI and Dell Storage Technologies
* CCNA, CCNP
