Purchasing Coordinator

Salary: £36,000 per year

Purchasing Co-ordinator; Stafford, Staffordshire; up to £30K depending upon experience

An expanding, Instrumentation Manufacturing company based in Mid-Staffordshire is looking to appoint an ambitious Purchasing Co-Ordinator to work within their business.

Due to continued business growth this company is seeking to appoint a talented Purchasing professional to manage materials and parts / components purchased for the organisation. This is a challenging and varied opportunity which will develop with increased responsibility over time. Due to the location of this company and nature of the role, own transport is required.

The role will involve:

Daily management of supplier orders for finished products and items of packaging to meet customer and workshop requirements, planning the optimum levels of inventory for the business.

Developing strong relationships with key suppliers, Analysis of supplier performance and Achieving cost savings / best possible terms.

Expediting supplier deliveries in order to meet customer and workshop requirements/ Progress chasing all orders to obtain accurate delivery dates. Dealing with day to day supplier queries in a timely manner.

Organising supplier returns.

Analysis and interpretation of data/ stock information in order to react to changes in demand.

Using IT systems including a material planning database and MS Excel to manage supplier data, automate processes and produce various reports for the Directors.

Those applying should be:

Natural team players. Well organised with excellent attention to detail and confident communication skills when dealing with a broad variety of individuals. A strategic thinker with sound IT skills including MS Office. Experienced within materials management, procurement or purchasing.

Excellent working knowledge of Excel or databases is required. A CIPS qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
