Summary:

We are currently working with a company based in Newbury who are a global supplier of chemicals to a wide range of industries including pharmaceutical, life sciences and diagnostic sectors. They specialize in the production of carbohydrates, nulceosides, enzyme substrates and biochemicals.

What You’ll Do:

This is a great entry level opportunity for someone looking to gain some hands on laboratory experience, some of your duties will include:

• Manage and record samples coming in and out of QC for analysis
• Support analysts by preparing samples, solvents and buffers (depending on level of experience)
• Ordering and stock management for the QC department
• Analysis of products such as melting point, water content, solubility and pH.
• Preparation of product documentation by entering results into LIMS
• Maintaining records and documentation according to GLP standards
• General laboratory housekeeping duties

Your Background:

• A-Level or Btec in a chemistry discipline would be advantageous but not necessary
• Experience of using LIMS would be advantage but not essential as full training is given
• Experience working in a laboratory environment would be advantageous but not necessary
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Excellent attention to detail
• An interest in chemistry
• A supportive team player
• A drive to learn new techniques and procedures.

The successful candidate will be someone who has a keen interest in chemistry who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, able to show initiative and work with minimum supervision.
