Salary: £26,000 per year
LinkPoint specialises in the recruitment of high quality candidates in the Administrative sector and we have an excellent opportunity for a Receptionist to work as part of a team of receptionists for a medical centre. You will be required to maintain a high quality and efficient service for the patients, doctors and nurses and provide clerical and computer assistance where necessary.
Core Duties
– Deal promptly, efficiently and courteously with enquiries from patients, doctors, nurses and other staff at the medical centre
– Book and cancel patient appointments, as required.
– Use the reception triaging effectively
– Greet patients at the reception with a professional manner, record their arrival in line with the policy of the practice
– Answer telephone calls, deal with queries and record / pass on messages to the appropriate person, according to practice policy
– Ensure that information in respect of new patient registrations is recorded accurately and that all appropriate forms are completed
– Deal with payments from patients according to practice policy
– Complete accurately the receipt book for payments received from patients in respect of travel vaccinations and other services
– Arrange urgent transport, hospital appointments, district nursing or social services, as requested by the doctors
– Liaise with hospitals, arrange appointments for patients and chase urgent laboratory result
– Work with the team to keep the reception and waiting room areas tidy
Computer Input
– To enter patient information on computer (EMIS Web system) as required
– To be available for scanning of documents according to protocol
Key Experience
– A good standard of education
– Excellent communication skills, including an excellent telephone manner
– At least a year’s experience working as a receptionist
– Experience working in the medical sector, highly desirable
– Experience using EMIS Web system, highly advantageous
– Accurate keyboard skills and attention to detail
– An ability to work well under pressure is essential

Working Hours: Monday to Friday – example as set out as follows:
Monday 08:30 – 17:00 (1 hour lunch)
Tuesday 10:00 – 19:00 (1 hour lunch)
Wednesday 08:30 – 19:00 (1 hour lunch)
Thursday 09:30 – 16:00 (1 hour lunch)
Friday 10:00 – 16:30 (1 hour lunch)
Saturdays are optional on a rolling rota with the other receptionists
