Quality (8d) – Customer Liaison Officer (Manufacturing)

THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Quality (8d) – Customer Liaison Officer to work in an manufacturing organisation based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:
To Provide the major interface with customers on all quality related matters in respect of serial production and new project introduction.
Ensure feedback to all customers within the specified time frame.
Ensure all customer requirements are understood internally in order to fully satisfy the customers needs.

THE DUTIES:

* Management of external 8D review system to enable quick resolution of customer issues.

* Ensures timely action at customer locations, through suitably organised support teams, to minimise impact of any concern.

* Ensures all containment actions within the organisation are robust and validated.

* Clearly communicates all findings to the customer through, customer specific portals.

* Negotiates in good faith reductions to external PPM or quality related costs to ensure full compliance with the departmental budget.

* Give full commitment and support for standards relating to communications, training, health and safety, housekeeping and personal discipline.

* Key measures will be 8D’s outstanding, zero km and warranty PPM levels, as well as adherence to all QA financial objectives

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

* Understanding of production methods for high volume assembly. (Essential)

* Computer literate (Essential)

* 3 years experience dealing directly with automotive customers. (Essential)

* Qualified to HND or Degree level in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. (Desirable)

* Knowledge of customer systems and requirements. ( Desirable)

* Knowledge and experience in quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, Problem Solving and Lean six sigma. ( Desirable)

Support all the purchasing functions primarily in administration and consumables area.

THE PACKAGE
You will earn a basic salary of between £36,000and £35,000 / annum (depending on experience) plus benefits.
