MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POST:
The GP Liaison Officer (GPLO) is responsible for engaging GPs in order to generate activity and revenues for the facility.
The role aims to assist in increasing consultant referrals from GPs and to support the overall objective of increasing consultant loyalty to the facility and organisation as a whole.
The role encompasses areas of business development and identification of growth opportunities across the range of services delivered per facility.
The role requires direct communication and interaction with GPs to enable and facilitate GP Education meetings which may ensure a shift in referral pathways.
Close working with marketing will ensure that concepts from business development become operational.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
– General / Business Development & Consultant Administration
– Trouble shoot any operational or process issues and involve team members in their resolution
– Update business development plans both internal and external
– Support any departmental administration process when required
– In collaboration with team, evaluate, analyze, and interpret market utilization data for each Consultant including market share data for primary facility, ensuring that relationship priorities are identified.
– Evaluate, analyze, and interpret market demographics /intelligence and trends in consultant referral patterns in order to target key markets.
– Track as a result of above activity, according to clearly defined metrics, growth in net revenue and volume/activity
– Prepare and present monthly reports, identifying trends, additional business opportunities, and obstacles to new business growth
– In consultation with the CLM, develop an overall GP communication strategy, to include activities such as, but not exclusive to:
– Tracking specific preferences of Practice Managers and others to further personalize our service to the Consultant
– Develop and execute a GP Communication and engagement plan. Develop metrics to determine success in relation to the conversion of referrals to activity.
– Marketing
– Support and Liaise with Marketing Lead & Manager
– Assist in the Coordination of events including corporate celebrations, seminars etc.
– Assisting in development of the corporate communication strategy through identification of media opportunities, building relationships with key publications and responding to media enquiries.
– Organisation and implementation of launch campaigns for new services and communicating this to key stakeholders such as GPs.
– Informing marketing on website development and provide future recommendations.
– Assist in the maintenance of customer databases and provide support to fulfil direct mail needs.
– Evaluation of marketing initiatives and offer proposals for future strategies.
– Informing the planning and implementation of communication and marketing plans for internal and external audiences.
– Providing administrative support to the Marketing Manager as appropriate.
– Measurement of volume and conversion of customer enquiries into the service providing monthly reports for senior management.
– Fulfill direct marketing needs, through conducting focused and tailored unit tours in a professional and flexible manner.
– Provision of administrative support as required to the wider marketing team including organisation of Open Days.
– Ensuring promotional material is available throughout the hospital.
– On direction from the GM from time to time other duties may be considered necessary for the facilitation of this role
– An ability to work flexibly, including some unsocial hours, are integral to the role and maintaining appropriate links and access to the consultants

The Person

Work is performed in an office environment and out in the `field and the role would suit a dynamic nurse looking for a more commercial role or a medical device/ pharmaceutical sales role. It woudl also suit someone that has worked in a sales capacity in a medical setting and has the ability to speak to senior medical professionals.
