Salary: £26,000 – £26,400 per year
We’re looking to recruit a Medication Compliance Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role would suit somebody who has worked as a Coordinator, Deputy Manager, Quality Officer or similar previously in the social care field. As a Medication Compliance Officer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that medication systems and processes are embedded into service delivery. You’ll conduct medication audits within the service, including in customers’ homes and manage errors to ensure that learning and safeguards are implemented to protect clients.
The Medication Compliance Officer Role
Working for a domiciliary care organisation, you’ll work in Nottingahm to support their managerial teams in ensuring that the medication systems and processes are embedded into service delivery so that they are meeting regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include;
* Taking the lead role in the medication audits programme, carrying out planned and responsive medication audits within the service/s allocated- this includes ‘live’ audits in customer’s homes.
* Where services have medication/logbooks auditors, providing support and guidance to ensure robust auditing systems are in place.
* Ensuring that medication audits are used to identify service-based and individual actions
* Using audit findings to directly inform the review of systems and processes
* Liaising with other medication leads and the Medication Compliance Manager ensuring cross directorate good practice and learning is shared and disseminated
* Ensuring that medication systems and processes are aligned to the Medication Procedure and where necessary any Local Authority contractual requirements specific to the service
* Ensuring that the medication process is effectively audited, and any actions/learning is completed as outlined in the procedure.
We are looking for somebody..
* Who can demonstrate a good understanding of the social care sector.
* With knowledge of medication administration
* Who has experience of undertaking audits.
* Who can lead by example and act as a [professional role model to others, providing clear direction to encourage and motivate others.
* Who thrives on change and leading others through uncertainty.
* Who is a driver with their own vehicle.
It would be great if you have worked in a Quality and Compliance role before such as Compliance Officer, or Medication Officer, but it’s likely that you may have worked as a Care Coordinator, Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, Deputy Manager, Head of care or something similar. As long as you have the above experience of conducting audits and sound knowledge of medication administration we will consider your application.
