Late Shift Production Supervisor

Salary: £26,000 per year

Our client is seeking an experienced Late Shift Supervisor succesful for an electrical manufacturers in Eastbourne. They design and manufacture security solutions
Main purpose of the role:
To supervise all functions during the shift within the factory environment to ensure the smooth running of operations, with a primary focus on quality, cost and delivery, leading to the provision of a world-class manufacturing facility. The production supervisor provides leadership, training and development to staff and co-ordinates resources during the shift.
Key Tasks:
1. Providing supervisory leadership to the production, warehouse and SMT operatives. This will include motivating and mentoring staff in addition to conducting staff appraisals, creating PDPs and one-to-one meetings in conjunction with Senior Operators.
2. Training and developing the team to increase operational and personal performance. Ensuring the skills matrix is kept up to date at all times.
3. Conducting return to work interviews, managing timesheets, and communicating any overtime as set by the Production Managers.
4. Working closely with the Production Managers and Planners to plan and co-ordinate the manufacture of Printed Circuit Boards Assembly’s (PCBA’s), assemblies and finished boxed goods in a timely and efficient manner to achieve output targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), as determined by the Production Managers.
Providing feedback and appropriate information (including the handover of priority work) to the next Production Supervisor during the handover period between shifts. Tour the site to address any housekeeping or Health and Safety issues at each shift changeover.
1. Utilising the Senior Operators for expertise within each department.
2. Working with the Manufacturing and Electronic Test Engineers to ensure a speedy response to urgent issues which have caused delays in manufacturing.
3. Conducting meetings at the shift information share board to ensure all priorities and issues are understood and all are working to a common plan.
4. Helping to maintain the Integrated Management System (IMS) policy to ensure continued certification with ISO9001 and ISO14001.
Driving Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
1. Ensuring that the Company’s policies and procedures on Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety are implemented.
2. Maintain a degree of flexibility with their peers to cover other shift absences. When workload is stretched the Production Supervisor must also be prepared to take a more hands on approach in assisting with packing and/or production where necessary.
3. Undertaking other duties appropriate to the level and character of the work as may reasonably be required by the Company.
