Senior Ruby on Rails Developer – (Ruby on Rails, RoR, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, MySQL, NoSQL) – Central London

Permanent – £54,000 – £66,000 pa + benefits

Ruby on Rails Developer sought by a growing private company based in Central London. The software engineer will have solid and demonstrable experience of producing extremely high quality code within a collaborative Agile environment using open source development technologies.

Working as a key member of the existing development team, the Ruby on Rails Developer will design, develop, test and maintain a bespoke cloud-hosted client application at a mid-senior level. You will provide technical leadership to client services development projects and the Product Development roadmap, whilst also having other specific individual tasks and requirements.

The client is looking for a well-rounded Developer who can take a consultative approach and make recommendations, take ownership and the technical lead on the Ruby on Rails development of the internal and client facing applications.

Key Skills:

Minimum of three years’ solid and demonstrable “hands on” object-oriented software development experience building and integrating systems predominantly using open source technologies
Minimum of 12 months experience in development using Ruby on Rails as the primary coding language.
Experience using ‘Gems’ such as (but not limited to) Capybara, Chef, Shoulda, factory_girl etc..
Client side development expertise using JavaScript (jQuery), HTML/CSS
Competencies in writing SQL code
API development experience
A person who thrives upon working in a close-knit team environmentDesirable Skills:

SOAP and/ or RESTful experience
