Salary: £600 – £660 per day

Role: Procurement Manager – indirect
Daily rate: c£600 – £660 Umbrella
Length of contract: 6 months
Location: working from home / Luton (hybrid)

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Procurement Manager who has indirect/ professional services expertise to work for a leading organisation based in Luton.

As a Procurement Manager you will be accountable for a high volume of professional services, distrution and sustainability agreements. You will be required to complete spend and market analysis, stakeholder and supplier engagement plans, lead full tender processes including template drafting both for existing contracts and new requirements, and manage supplier relationships to ensure that the business receives the best value from its expenditure.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement clear short / mid / long term strategies to drive value on the allocated category of spend
Influence a range of key internal stakeholders to support and buy in to chosen strategy.
Build relationships at board level with suppliers to leverage strategic importance, and subsequently negotiate charges that secure competitive advantage.
Identify appropriate sourcing, through a balanced scorecard approach
Manage the tender process, negotiation and subsequent contracting for service/product provision.
Drive continuous improvement within the supply base, and deliver a pipeline of value engineering projects to reduce the businesses spend.
Monitor actual financial performance against plan, and investigate / explain variances appropriately
Work closely with the Business Area to agree clear service specifications to meet business requirements.
Support supplier relationship management policies to ensure consistent practices and develop supplier relationships.
Leverages knowledge of revenue model sand supplier capability to identify new and improved revenue

Skills set required
Extensive commercial, category and procurement management experience
Professional services/ indirect procurement expertise
Experience of running RFI/ RFP direct negotiation either individually or as part of a team
Ability to run legally compliant tenders, and experience of managing mini competitions from existing frameworks.
Experience of drafting and advising on complex tender documentation, specifications and pricing schedules to support the tender process.
Knowledge and experience of recent developments in procurement best practice including e-procurement and e-sourcing.
Proven track record in influencing and managing procurement improvements and delivering savings
Excellent analytical expertise, identifying strategic options and providing recommendations
Exceptional negotiation skills
Strong stakeholder management experience
Exceptional commercial and financial acumen
Excellent interpersonal skills and IT systems knowledge and experience
