Salary: £42,000 per year

A high ranking local school based in Gosfield are seeking to appoint a School Development Marketing Officer. This is an exciting and challenging role for someone with Marketing, PR and Admissions or Registrar experience with an understanding and ability to undertake full responsibility for admissions. The ideal candidate would currently be working as a Registrar or Marketing Executive within the education sector. This post pf school development marketing officer is essential both internally and externally to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the Development of the School. Internally, the school development marketing Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of marketing, public relations and school admissions. Externally, the school development marketing Officer will play a leading role in building and strengthening relationships with the School’s key constituencies, past and present parents, staff and governors through organising and managing events, and instigating improved communications.

The Role
• Attract new students across the School’s portfolio of programmes and associations
• Ensure prospectus and full school information is provided to enquirers
• Manage and update the schools web and social networking presence (including Facebook and Linked in groups/pages).
• Collate material and edit the weekly Newsletter, updating data base for circulation to both existing and prospective parents
• Handle telephone and email enquiries from prospective students, their parents, teachers and advisers independently and in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor a Request Tracker system (web-based enquiry system) and collate accurate data relating to all admissions enquiries.
• Build first class relations with local and national media organisations
• Update information about the School on external websites and directories
• Create fresh and up-to-date web content, to pass to the Web Development Web Design Teams
• Provide ideas and input into the development of new e-marketing materials, marketing collateral and publicity material
• Write copy for marketing material (brochures, posters, flyers etc) for the School’s programmes, liaising with the relevant academic staff to update content as necessary; sourcing student and alumni testimonials; liaising with designers for all production issues
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations for use at recruitment events, presentations and conferences
• Compile media plans for Open Mornings and recruitment events
• Liaise with academic and administrative staff to request and collate information for Stakeholder publications such as the annual Stakeholders Report
• Proactively seek information for PR purposes and writing press releases
• Maintain a photo library and arrange photo shoots and filming with photographers.
• Liaise with the School’s advertising agency, designers and printers
• Coordinate the School’s presence at exhibitions locally, nationally and internationally
• Represent and promote the School at exhibitions and presentations
• Input into the School’s marketing plans, gathering market intelligence and working with the School Principal to analyse results in relation to the School’s marketing plans.
The Person
• Have previous Marketing and Public Relations experience, ideally but not essentially within a school or charitable organisation
• Have worked as, or have an understanding of the role of, Registrar or Admissions Secretary in a School, College or University
• Have a warm and engaging manner and personality, with the ability to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds
• Maintain high professional standards of presentation and demeanour
• Be able to forge effective working relationships with a wide range of staff and other stakeholders
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimum supervision.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands
• Enjoy working to a high standard in a demanding environment
• Be a team player able to initiate projects and ideas, as well as take direction
• ICT literate (e.g. excel, word, PowerPoint, access)

Benefits to you
• 22 days per year rising to 27 after 5 years’ service plus bank holidays
• IRO £42,000 per annum plus annual performance bonus
• Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week
• Contributory pension scheme for administrative staff
• Remission of fees for a son or daughter attending the school, in line with the current policy of the Governing Council (currently 40%), subject to the usual standards and procedures for admission
• Free school meals whilst on duty
