Laboratory Technician

Salary: £32,029 per year

Direct Response Employment Services is delighted to be supporting our client in Frome who are actively seeking a Lab Technician to join the team on a permanent basis. 

This role is a permanent role working on a rotational 3 weekly shift pattern 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm and 10pm – 6am. 

Key Duties: 

• To be able to carry out tests within the labs (Chemistry and Microbiology) 
• To Complete daily taste panels, recording samples and the management of reference samples.
• To work safely regarding personal safety and the safety of colleagues and others. 
• To be able to work unsupervised within agreed timetables. 
• To be able to ensure all stock is rotated correctly, conduct stock takes and report to management in relation to any stock needs. 
• Disposing of lab waste safely and correctly. 
• To be able to carry out environmental and plant hygiene swabs. 
• To be able to collate all out of spec results, report and circulate to a designated list.
• Respond to requests for product releases by email and phone. 
• To prioritise the given workload to ensure lab KPI’s are met. 
• Conducting internal Audits.

The successful candidate will have experience working in a similar role ideally within a Lab environment of at least 12 months minimum. 

You will be computer literate, able to communicate effectively, work well under pressure and be able to work to strict procedures within the laboratory.

Starting Salary for the role is £32,029.25 per year and you will also receive additional company benefits which include 25 days holiday plus Bank holidays, death in service, sick pay, Long service rewards and additional well being benefits.
