Business Engagement and Communications Officer
£157.42 per day PAYE / £163.46 per day Umbrella PAYE
Role purpose and role dimensions:
Overview of the job
Reporting directly to the Busines and Enterprise Manager will lead and develop campaigns and activities to promote the projects and initiatives included on the Business Recovery Programme and other business support projects, employment support projects delivered by the Economic Development team. The postholder will work with internal and external stakeholders and appointed suppliers to help the council achieve its objectives.
Economic Development projects
This will involve:
• Prepare and present targeted, high quality, engaging and accurate information using a range of material in suitable formats for a variety of audiences, ensuring information is accessible to everyone.
• Manage the delivery of content across all media channels including the website, social media and business newsletter.
• Co-ordinate the delivery of key campaigns to support businesses in the borough, ensuring that these are delivered on time and within budget, working with internal and external partners when required.
• Proactively plan to ensure that projects marketing and communications activities are aligned with and meet the requriements of the projects and the wider growth, employment and skills agenda.
Communication and events
• Provide high quality web based content and social media based communications.
• Develop and maintain a regular programme of activities to inform and engage with businesses in the borough, including networking events and business forums.
• Develop a plan to support the promotion of events in High Streets and Town Centres.
• In conjunction with the Work Redbridge Manager develop a plan to support the promotion of employment support services both internally and to residents and businesses.
• Create and maintain up to date web content, ensuring the public and stakeholders are able to access appropriate information in different formats.
• Update and maintain the Business Newsletter and regular messages shared via social media and other approved digital channels.
Minimum experience/ knowledge/ skills:
* Understanding and knowledge of the Economic Development Agenda particularly in respect of business engagement and support.
* Ability to prioritise, plan and organise work.
* Experience and knowledge of the use of digital media and the different digital channels.
* Up to date knowledge with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing.
* Significant experience and knowledge of good community and stakeholder engagement practices.
