Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year
Our innovation-driven engineering department currently has an immediate opening for an experienced Technical Engineer. The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Manager and will collaborate with design & technical on the development of new products and existing product changes. The Technical Engineer will be responsible for carrying out the duties stated below within the Engineering department…
Responsibilities & Duties
* Control of the internal and external test programs
* Conduct all of the below listed tests (training will be provided, but experience within these subject areas would be beneficial)…
– Photometry
– Spectrometry
– In-situ Thermal Analysis
– Ingress Protection
– Impact, Load and Vibration
– EMC (Emissions, Harmonics and Immunity)
– Electrical Safety
– Harmonics and Power Analysis
* Creation and maintenance of product technical files and declarations of conformities
* Maintenance and calibration of all test equipment used within the department
* Technical test report writing
* Implement new and effective methods for the control and issue of technical test reports and procedures
Key Skills & Qualifications
* Minimum education of HNC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
* Familiarity with relevant product standards (BS EN and BS EN -3)
* A practical understanding of electrical safe working practises
* A practical understanding of mechanical engineering practises i.e. comfortable with electro-mechanical product assemblies
* Impeccable attention to detail and organisation
* Computer literacy particularly the use of Microsoft Office
