Established in 1985, over the last 28 years, our client has built an enviable reputation as market leader in supplying the finest international dishes to Pubs, Restaurants, Hotels, Travel and Leisure, Business and Industry, Healthcare and Education across the UK and Europe.
They are currently looking to recruit an IT Infrastructure Engineer to join them to support the IT Manager in the provision of desktop, hardware, software and network support issues within all sites and for all users.
Within the role you will install, upgrade, assemble and configure computers, operating systems / software and network infrastructure and peripherals to agreed standards; ensuring that all internal systems are fully operational, investigating hardware, application user issues or account errors when necessary. Supporting moves / additions / changes etc for Back Office applications, you will create and maintain the knowledge base content for regular/recurring support issues and ensure that all IT hardware is fully patched and virus definitions are up to date and functioning correctly.
The role also requires you to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve issues submitted to IT and assist with IT and business management in facilitating routine Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity tests.
Candidates for this role must have experience of a wide range of Microsoft technologies including Windows XP and Windows 7, Windows Servers (2003 and 2008), MS Exchange 2007, SQL Server 2005 and 2008 and VMware VSphere 4/5 and a background in providing hands on technical support assistance. You must have previous hands on technical support experience, supporting Windows client systems (such as XP and Windows 7), Windows Servers (2003 and 2008), Active Directory and Exchange 2007 coupled with SQL Administration knowledge.
Dell Server and desktop experience and exposure to supporting MRP system (Tropos would be highly advantageous) would be desirable but is not essential. Any background of creating and maintaining VLAN’s, a familiarity with the configuration and support of network switches and experience of supporting phone systems would also all be beneficial for the role.
